Does my Child Keep the Same Tutor?

Yes — your child will have a consistent tutor for their coaching sessions and a dedicated tutor for their Game Show Practice sessions, helping build routine, trust, and strong learning relationships. To maximise availability and scheduling flexibility, these may be two different tutors — both trained in the AchieveAble approach and fully aligned on your child’s learning goals.

On rare occasions, a tutor may need to take time off. If this happens, you’ll be offered a replacement tutor or the option to receive a credit and reschedule for another time — whichever works best for you.

In the very unlikely event that a tutor leaves AchieveAble, we’ll work closely with you to transition your child to another tutor. The new tutor will have full visibility of your child’s progress and learning history, ensuring continuity of care and learning.

How Do You Personalise Learning for my Child?

AchieveAble follows a structured roadmap for the natural development of maths skills. When your child joins AchieveAble — or starts a new topic — we begin with a short diagnostic to understand their current level. From there, we teach at the right point for your child, building confidence first, then introducing small stretches as they progress.

Our tutors are trained to identify both skill level and confidence in each topic. While classrooms often group students by age, we focus on actual understanding. Some children may need to strengthen foundational skills, while others may be ready for extension — and we adapt accordingly. This ensures every child is supported, challenged appropriately, and learning at a pace that works for them.

Behind the scenes, our technology continually tracks your child’s performance. Every two weeks, you’ll receive a brief progress update so you can clearly see how your child is developing and where they’re making gains.

Who are the tutors? Are tutors Australian-based?

All AchieveAble tutors are based in Australia and complete strict safety checks, including a Working With Children Check and reference screening, so families can feel confident their child is learning in a safe, supportive environment.

Our tutors are encouraged to develop their own unique teaching style, while also being trained to explain maths concepts the AchieveAble way. They come from diverse backgrounds but share a common belief: learning works best when it’s supportive, engaging, and human — because at AchieveAble, we believe everyone can be a teacher.

Is Game Show Practice Actual Learning?

Absolutely! Game Show Practice is designed to turn maths practice into something kids genuinely look forward to — while giving tutors clear insight into each student’s understanding.

Across each session, students complete multiple rounds of focused maths practice, with exciting game-show moments in between. This keeps energy high, motivation strong, and learning consistent, while tutors quietly assess progress and tailor support in real time.

For example, in Take It or Leave It (our maths game inspired by Deal or No Deal), students work through personalised practice rounds and open cases between each round, building towards a final prize. The result? More engagement, more repetitions, and more confidence — all wrapped in a fun, rewarding experience.

Does My Child Compete With Other Kids?

No — your child doesn’t compete academically with other students.

During each maths practice round, every child works on their own personalised set of questions, aligned to what they’re learning with their tutor. This means students can focus on building confidence at their own level — without comparison, pressure, or anyone seeing what others are working on.

The only “competition” happens during the game-show moments, which are designed to be light-hearted and fun rather than academic. These activities are largely based on chance, so everyone has an equal opportunity to participate and enjoy the experience.

For example, in Coin Toss (inspired by Tipping Point), students take to turns to knock coins adding to their KP score and also adding excitement and teamwork, without linking results to maths ability.

The goal is simple: personalised learning, zero pressure, and a fun shared experience that keeps kids motivated.

What if my Child is Shy or Doesn’t like Group Activities?

Game Show Practice is the only part of AchieveAble that involves other students. During these sessions, your child is welcome to turn their camera off and mute their microphone if they’re feeling shy or need extra comfort. Our tutors are trained to create an inclusive, low-pressure environment and gently encourage participation at each student’s own pace.

During private coaching sessions, students are asked to keep their camera and microphone on so tutors can provide personalised support and feedback. These 1-on-1 sessions are designed to feel calm, supportive, and safe — giving students the confidence to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow without judgment.

Question 7

What Happens If I Miss a Lesson?

We understand that life happens. If your child misses a lesson, no worries — you’ll receive a credit that can be used to book an ad-hoc coaching session or Game Show Practice outside your usual recurring schedule.

To help keep learning on track and manage tutor availability, credits need to be used within the same month they’re issued. Any unused credits will expire at the end of the month, and we’ll send you reminders beforehand so nothing goes to waste.

How is This Different From Regular Private Tutors?
